Azzz doggg asked: This will be my first credit card.
I am not planning on carrying any balance. I just want to build my credit history. I am making enough money to cover any purchases and plan to pay in full each month, so I don’t really care about the interest rate.

fdnl13 asked: Despite a flawless payment history over the last 20 years, Citibank is raising my rate by 5%. I would easily give them the heave-ho, but I’ve heard that a long-standing credit card account has a positive effect on your credit rating. How big a hit would my credit rating take if I closed the Citibank account?

Andras asked: Well, the question is pretty straightforward. I know the credit takes a dive, but does it also mean that for 5-7 years (or forever) there will be a permanent blemish on my credit?
Thank you.
Thank you for the answers. The problem is I cannot continue paying, otherwise I would not be thinking about it. I lost my job in the US, and presently am enrolled in a graduate school working on my PhD in England… The stipend is not exactly high. So I really have limited options.

Shytye asked: Got 2 old credit cards with small amounts-like one hundred dollars balance one each, but want to pay off quickly. Can’t pay each credit card month to month either or separately. Don’t need old credit cards no more. What do I do? Can anyone help me out? Only helpful and sensible answer are needed for my dilemma.

asked: I have a credit score greater than 760 in the US. We are planning to move to Canada. Do Canadian lenders have access to/consider US Credit Score when considering an application for credit?

Joseph C asked: I’m looking to start building credit, and I’d like to do this by getting a secured credit card. So I’m wondering which cards or brands have good deals for the time I’m going to need it. Also if anyone could give some insight on how the transition works from a secured credit card to a regular credit card, that would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Chris asked: I am a student and I do not have any credit. What kind of credit card would be good for me to start building my credit up? I do not want anything that has a monthly fee, and it does not need to be a high credit limit because I will be buying something and paying it right off. Any suggestions?

Siana asked: I have tried applying for credit cards but they won’t give me credit for lack of credit. How can I go about getting a good credit score? (Besides loan companies. Already trying that.)
I really don’t earn much at my job and I would like to get a JC Penny card or something like that for clothes.

Bear E asked: I spent some time in jail and my credit card expired. Currently I have no checking account or active credit card. How do I get a credit report? All the sites I have seen require a valid active credit card.
