What is the best credit cardfor a young person looking to repair bad credit?
Sara B asked:
I’m young (19) and have had some credit problems: medical bills, and also bills that didn’t reach me when I moved, so they were late. I’m on stable financial ground now and have heard that a credit card is a good way to repair my history- if I use it sensibly and pay it off every month. What is the best card for someone like me to get, and why?

a debit card. if your credit is bad, do not try to repair it with a credit card. just pay your bills on time and keep your spending down.

Hi, there are few Credit Card company that give out credit card to the poor or bad credit people, and one of them is Capital One, they have a Guaranteed MasterCard. that mean no matter what is your credit rating is they will give you this card. they started with a $500 limit. and a annul fee of $59. but that is small price to pay to get your rating back up to the top.
I have used this card to repair my credit. I started off with $500 limit, after 6 months of good payment they automatic increased to $5,000. and on the 11th months of I having the card, I called them up and ask them to remove the annul fee for me. since I paid all my bill on time, they were happy to remove the fee for me to keep me as a good customer with them. after a year of good credit building I got a CIBC Visa and started off with $5,000 limit and after 6 months, they increased to $15,000 for me. now with continues good payments my credit rating is great!
here is the link to the Capital One Credit Card site.
Good Luck on you credit rebuild. One final tip. To rebuild your credit faster always keep your TOTAL Credit to Debt Ratio under 30%

You can try HSBC – they offer some attracive subprime credit cards, including one that offers rewards.
A site I’ve used for info in the past …
Best of luck.
